Top Tips For Fitness Beginners

Education is one of your most important tools, so learn a little more about training and nutrition from these 7 tips

Success in your wellness journey hinges on knowledge to change and implement a healthy lifestyle shift. Without at least some knowledge about nutrition, training, and motivation your changes will be short-lived….

1 Commitment.

Many people say that achieving a healthier, better-looking body is 70 percent diet and 30 percent training. Actually it’s 100 percent commitment to both.  No, don’t kick your own backside for the little slip-ups, but do remember that this is important and you must stick with it if it’s going to work.

2 Healthy Fuel

Healthy eating is the backbone of your program. Food is what fuels your body and without proper nutrition through quality foods, you’ll stall.

Stick to whole foods—organic whenever possible—that offer a balanced blend of complex carbohydrates, complete proteins, and fats and avoid processed and packaged foods.

3 Plan

Lay out a plan! Plan out what days you’ll be training so you can start getting into a routine. It’s important to take it slowly at first, train too often and you run the risk of getting burned out or injured..

Challenge yourself with small, attainable goals to keep your motivation high!

4 Be Brave

Don’t be intimidated! The fear of lifting weights and training properly can be paralysing and leave you stuck on a bike or a treadmill.

Enlisted a personal trainer to teach you how the body works and to learn the proper techniques and tools. A trainer is a wonderful tool, the more you educate yourself, the more success you’ll have with any fitness program. What matters is your dedication, drive, and persistence!

5 Use the body

Stay away from silly little machines and trickery. Nothing builds a foundation like lifting heavy weights, don’t be afraid of that, it’s what your body is designed to do and it will react to it in many positive ways, right up to old age.

6 Prepare

Preparation is key to jump starting your healthy lifestyle! It’s easy to make excuses to skip a meal or training session without a plan.  Having your meals planned will keep you away from the takeaway menu or crap you have in the fridge.  Likewise scheduling your training will be well worth it.

7 Be Realistic

If you set your goals as attainable then you should feel more excited than nervous.

On the other hand, if you make your goals a little too far-fetched, you’ll feel like you’re about to walk over the edge of a huge cliff!

Add a coach and a community of like-minded people who can help you be accountable and can offer you support.  Don’t believe that you can get there by taking shortcuts. The only way to achieve what you want will be through old-fashioned hard work and determination.
